Virtual Film Maker for Android

Virtual Film Maker provides the unique set of features:

  • Allows easy mixing video, photo and HTML files in a continuous presentation called "Virtual Film"

  • Playback of the selected fragment of the video file

  • Individual duration for each slide

  • Preview of a folder with videos, photos and sound files in some seconds (‘Pro’ version only)

  • Automatic slideshow creation out of any folder in some seconds

  • Background play list – varios background soundtracks for your film (‘Pro’ version only)

  • Unlimited Undo (‘Pro’ version only)

  • And more!

Virtual Film Maker is not a video editor. Virtual Film doesn't exist as a physical media file. It is just a script in the simple XML file format that controls the customized media player. It just tells the media player, in what sequence to playback your photos and fragments of videos and adds background music. That's why it's called "virtual". It weights little and loads fast.

And, yes... you cannot upload the finished product to YouTube.

Virtual Film Maker 3.0 iconOverview

Not every film is intended for huge audience, broadcasting and cinemas. Most of home films and office presentations are designed for small audience of friends and relatives, classmates or colleagues and live during only some presentations. Virtual Film Maker integrates some great technologies to allow fast virtual films creation, editing and watching.

Suppose you have an Android 3.0 tablet and some footage from the camcorder - children, nature, vacation, job and so on.

If you want some of the following:

  • to show some best fragments to your mom and relatives

  • to show some fragments of your vacations footage to your friends

  • to make a small presentation for your colleagues

  • to create a montage sketch for your next real movie chef-d'oeuvre

  • to make a video for a high school project without hard editing

then you are in the right place. Virtual film Maker does exactly what you want.

Virtual Film Maker allows user to easily save and display a set of media file fragments (called 'clips'). The clips are not played back from the beginning to the end as in the simple play list. For each clip the playback starts anywhere you want ('Start Position' clip attribute) and lasts as long as you wish ('Duration' clip attribute).

Note that Virtual Film doesn't exist as a physical media file. It is just a script in the simple XML file format. That's why it's called "virtual film". It weights little and loads fast. And, yes... you cannot upload the finished product to YouTube.

To make a film you just set start and duration for selected media files on your tab, save the film and then watch it. It is a complete innovation and filmmaking has never been so simple. You don't need cut and trim buttons, and all those difficult things. To make a new version of your film you just change the start or the duration of a video.

All of us felt slight irritation of the people who we present our photos or video. Now you can enjoy only the favorite fragments of the videos and watch them without waiting. Now the film can be as long as you want and you can enjoy sharing even more. The whole program is so simple a child can use it. Stylish interface will encourage you to enjoy the application.

Virtual Film is a set of clips, which is saved on the disk in simple XML format in files with ".vfilm" extension. Each Film has some film properties such as 'Title', 'Description' and 'Author'. Each clip has some clip properties such as 'Name', 'Description', 'Media File Name', 'Start Position', 'Duration' and 'Volume'. Some types of clips have 'Initial Zoom' property as well.

Virtual Film Maker is a simple Virtual Film Editor combined with customized Android media player.

Stepping into the Future (Video, Images & Text together with HTML5)

Some 'Why?' Questions - Media Players, Presentation and Authoring Software

None of the existing popular media players cannot play media from 'StartPosition' to 'EndPosition'. They even do not have command line arguments for this. Why?

None of the existing popular media players cannot create and display slide show. Why?

People watch photos and videos from vacations on the same TV/smartphone/PC. Most of the people do not want to use (even to run) video editors. In 2011 there is no popular software program capable of combining slides and video fragments into the single presentation. Why?

Virtual Film Maker fills this gap.

And Virtual Film Maker is not alone. Here's the latest news from Purdue University:

Virtual Films Everywhere (Dreams...)

Interested users can easily combine multimedia files, images and HTML documents on the mobile device local storage together with interactive features of HTML5 and use the resulting virtual films (together with the content) as mobile e-books for both learning and entertaining.

Family - Imagine...

Dad creates virtual films about family vacations and sends them to the grandma, who lives in the country. Mom creates virtual films concerning cookery how to bake a tasty cake to Granny’s recipe -and shares them with her friends. Children create virtual films – and share them with friends.

Tourism - Imagine...

Real tourists make virtual films about their real excursions (Greece, Croatia, Paris...)

Virtual tourists watch professional or amateur virtual films about virtual excursions (Machu Picchu, Nasca, Bali, Italian museums, etc).

Publishing - Imagine...

Interactive books, magazines and newspapers... Video in the image frame (remember Potter movie) is not cool. Readers definitely need full screen HD video.

Education - Imagine...

Students, scholars and school kids watching mobile and interactive virtual films made by the best teachers and university professors and quickly make virtual films for their projects, reports, presentations and courseworks.
